Almost all commercially available music is copyrighted material. Generally, an individual does not have the right to reproduce any copyrighted material without the permission of the copyright holder. Magic Memories strongly supports the copyright act and feels that an artist's creative work is their property and should be protected. We are happy that they share these creative works with the public and support the concept that they should be compensated for their efforts. There is a fair use clause in the Copyright act which provides for limited use of copyrighted materials under certain circumstances. If you have properly purchased copyrighted materials, you have the right to duplicate those materials for your own private use such as backup copies, transferring a compact disc to cassette tape for your car, or similar uses.
For this reason, Magic Memories can not, and will not provide copyrighted music for your Video Scrapbook. The customer must provide their own properly purchased music either on cassette tape or compact disc for use in their Video Scrapbook. The finished Video Scrapbook is intended for the customers own personal use, and may not be duplicated in any manner or re-sold without the permission of all copyright holders.
It is the hope and intention of Magic Memories, that by suggesting these music selections for certain types of Video Scrapbooks, the customer will be motivated to purchase a new cassette or CD that they might not otherwise have owned.
