Please follow these steps when planning your Magic Memories Video Scrapbook.

3. The contents of your Video Scrapbook : The finished length of your Video Scrapbook will be determined by the number of pictures you plan to include, and the length of music you select for the background. A good guide is to plan on 10-11 pictures per minute of music. If you have a song in mind that is four minutes and 15 seconds long, there should be approximately 50 pictures. Alternatively, if you have 150 pictures that you want to use, you would need to find several songs that total a little over 13 minutes in length.
It is better to have more music than not enough, as your pictures could become rushed and change too quickly.

Please use this chart for the ideal number of pictures/minutes of music.

(You can extend the chart by doubling the numbers, i.e. 14 minutes of music would need 164 pictures.)

 

4. What order should your pictures appear in the Video Scrapbook? It is important that you number the back of each picture, so they remain in order even if your package is bounced around during handling. Using a ball point pen, mark a small clear number in a corner on the back of each picture, starting with 1, 2, 3, and so on.
IMPORTANT! DO NOT USE a hard tip pen that will press through the photo and damage it. DO NOT PUT YOUR PICTURES IN A STACK UNTIL AFTER THE INK HAS DRIED. Otherwise the ink may stick to the next picture and ruin it.

Preparing your pictures
Be sure to remove any tape, or other sticky materials from the backs of your pictures to insure they will not damage adjacent pictures. Picture size is not as important as its clarity. We can work with any image from a full sized painted portrait to a 1x1 black and white snapshot. Although a foggy, or blurred picture will not get any better when it's blown up on a T.V. screen, sometimes you have no choice but to use a marginal photo. Magic Memories will always work to achieve the best image possible. Also, close-ups provide warmer images than long shots with scenery backgrounds. If you would like us to focus on a section of a picture, you can use small 3M post-it notes to "frame" the section you would like to have used on a picture. Feel free to use a post-it note with a comment, or arrow indicating the person, or item of focus in a group picture.

 

5. Once your pictures are organized and numbered: place them inside a zip lock plastic bag, and close the seal. If you want to be extra careful, use a second zip lock bag for your cassette tapes, or compact discs. Due to copyright laws, you must provide your own music. We accept only cassette tapes and compact discs.

8. Make an appointment: Place this form with pictures, cassettes, and/or compact discs in a large envelope, so they do not bounce, or get separated. Contact us by phone at 612-868-3463 to make an appointment. For mail order service, please call and ask for shipping instructions and costs. Upon completion of your Video Scrapbook, we will contact you and schedule an appointment to view the videotape together. At that time, we will return your materials to you in original condition along with the completed Video Scrapbook(s), and will accept payment in full.

 

Pricing: Processing fees are based on the number of images appearing in your Video Scrapbook. An image consists of a photo, slide, or other memorabilia that you wish to have included in your Video Scrapbook. We suggest 10-11 images per minute of music. If you try to squeeze extra pictures into a song, you will get bad results by forcing the images to change too quickly to be enjoyable. Optional titles (up to 50 characters) can be included at the beginning, end or throughout your Video Scrapbook as desired. Prices are subject to change without notice however bookings reserved with a deposit will be price protected.

Segment Title: Our growing years
Notes: put title over first picture - then use picture by itself

The title at the beginning of this segment is "Our growing years" and it should be superimposed over the first picture (each title counts as a picture). The title will then fade and the first picture will stay up for another 5 seconds. The music for the first segment will be the song BABY FACE and pictures 1 through 23 will be displayed.
If no title is desired, leave the space blank. If no special instructions are given, the title will appear on a black background. If more room is needed you may attach a separate sheet of paper.

1. In the event of postponement, or cancellation of this contract, any deposit paid is not refundable.
2. Magic Memories reserves the right to use copies of the Video Scrapbook, and/or reproductions for display, advertisement, or other purposes.
3. Magic Memories takes utmost care with respect to the handling of customer's materials, editing, duplication and delivery of video products, and services offered. However, in the event of damaged, or lost materials, or if Magic Memories otherwise fails to comply with the terms of the contract due to any event, or act outside the control of Magic Memories, liability will be limited to refund of deposits paid.
4. No videotape, either in progress, or completed, may be taken off the studio premises unless balance due is paid in full.
5. Notice of copyright; some materials submitted to Magic Memories may be copyrighted, and therefore protected by law. The customer represents that permission has been acquired from the copyright holder to reproduce those materials in the Video Scrapbook.
6. Magic Memories reserves the right to decline obscene, vulgar, or offensive materials.
7. Magic Memories warranties that the Video Scrapbook will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 60 days from delivery. In the event of a warrantee claim, upon receipt and evaluation of the defective product, Magic Memories may at its discretion replace the defective Video Scrapbook with a new copy, or refund all monies paid for the defective product. Obvious signs of abuse, or misuse will invalidate all warranties.
