Mark Bowman

Chairman

I have had a career based in technology companies where I have worked and lived both in New Zealand and internationally.

I currently specialise in the governance, leadership and strategy of high growth companies.

Golf, food, walking and travel are activities that fill my spare time.

I am always in awe of the opportunities that Magic creates with our Partners, their guests, and our staff. This brings a smile to my face!

Geoff Burns

Non-executive Director

I am a non-executive director and experienced tourism consultant.

I graduated as a Chartered accountant from the University of Otago and following Financial and General Management roles in the UK, the US
and New Zealand established, in 2001,
an investment and advisory business specialising in tourism and the golf sector.

I enjoy the variety of businesses I am engaged with, along with family, travel, cooking and playing golf. I have been involved with Magic Memories since 2002 as variously an advisor, board chair and now director and shareholder, and have been rewarded with the absolute passion for progress that all of the Magic Memories teams share.

Craig Elliott

Independent Director

I’ve spent 30 years in Silicon Valley working ten at Apple computer and then two startups. My background has given me an appreciation for customer experience. It’s more than ease of use, it’s about customer enthusiasm.

I’ve been lucky enough to work with Kiwi entrepreneurs with kiwi landing pad and the NZ intern program bringing kiwi com/ sci students for a tour of Silicon Valley.

Outside of work I have three kids, two teenage boys and a 10 year old girl.

I like to hike, fly fish and take a lap or two at Highland Motor Park in my Toyota 86.

Stefan Preston

Independent Director

I am a Kiwi engineer/business man/ innovator with a passion for innovation and transformation and a BE (hons) (Auckland) and MBA (Stanford).

I was a CEO leading turnarounds at several significant New Zealand companies. At Bendon we grew the company into North America, Europe and the Middle East from an Australasian base. Since then I have focused on innovation as an entrepreneur with two companies, external director

and investor as well as a speaker and consultant.

Outside of work I am an avid mountain sports enthusiast and have two great teenage kids. I am inspired by spreading the Magic around the world and growing NZ impact on the world.

John Wikstrom

Founder & President

I am a proud New Zealander, born in the deep South, and gained a degree in Marketing from Otago University. I co-founded Magic Memories in my 2nd year out of University with Stu Norris back in 1994.

A graduate of the Icehouse programme for owners and managers and
a member of the Institute of Directors, I am passionate about evolving the industry interpretation of the importance of guest memories, and how a well designed experience can layer across an entire attraction improving the guest experience, extending attractions brands, and be a significant revenue earner.

I love to relax with my family, and in particular we all enjoy boating, skiing, mountain biking and traveling.
